He has covered B.C. politics, done a stint on Parliament Hill, survived the "Battle of Seattle," and developed a passion for Italy. Based in New Westminster, B.C., he is a freelance writer dedicated to getting the goods and delivering on deadline.

From the Cinque Terra to Tofino, from Costa Rica to Cassiar, Hauka has travelled widely, experiencing people and places, food, culture and history. Closer to his home in British Columbia, he loves to write about the beautiful Sunshine Coast, the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

Hauka has credits in a wide variety of media. He's written for magazines, newspapers, radio, television and the web. His novel, "Mr. Jinnah: Securities" was adapted for television as "Jinnah on Crime: White Knight, Black Widow," and starred Dhirendra. "McGowan's War," a non-fiction account of the birth of B.C. politics on the gold fields of the Fraser River was released in November, 2003.
